Message from the Superintendent

September 5, 2019

Dear El Rancho Community,

As your Superintendent, I am committed to the safety and well-being of all students and staff. Yesterday, I informed parents, families and staff via email regarding the recent newspaper article that there has been water testing in the City of Pico Rivera. The Pico Water District and the Water Authority have stated that the recent newspaper article may have caused some confusion with the public about the water quality in the City of Pico Rivera.

Therefore, even if the water is deemed to be safe by the Pico Water District and the Water Authority, as well as other regulatory agencies, the El Rancho Unified School District has taken measures to be proactive in our schools. Our Maintenance and Operations team is currently visiting all school campuses and district offices to identify each water fountain as we will be installing water filters at all school and district office locations.

Please be reassured that the El Rancho Unified School District is taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that our students and staff have access to safe drinking water now and in the future.

Sincerely,

Frances Esparza, Ed.D.
Superintendent

On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, Parent Conferences will be held for all grades. Students will be released at 11:55AM. Conferences will take place from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. The two time slots are available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. Please note that the 5:00-7:00 PM time slot is typically more impacted and you may experience longer wait times. Conferences focus on the student’s progress and it is valuable for the student to be present. At the same time, some conferences will be student-led conferences and it will be required for the student to be present. Our goal is for us to work together in planning for the success of your student for the remainder of this school year and for future years.
